The global turnover created by the extra virgin olive oil export around the world is 900 millions euro.
During the first 7 months we registered a consumption growth in Japan, China and Brazil. To the other side, in USA, after the positive performance of 2012, something change and the trend is not the same.
From October 2012 to April 2013, compared with the same period of the previous year, we found positive signals for the export toward not producers Countries. Japan +27%, China +19%, Brazil +14% and Russia +5%. Stable market for Canada and a little decrease for the Australian market -2.
Considering EU situation, import from extra UE countries growth of 68% and at the same time EU market goes down for 7%.
International reference market is US market but from that side no good news reveal.
During 2011/2012 US olive oil import was 317.095 tons, + 9% refer to 2010/2011. In the first 7 months of the new year the growth is around 4%, almost halved.
