Bordeaux, one of the international and European main wine hub, was the location for Winestar launch, the first French wine in can.
Now, looking around in supermarket shelves, just side to soft drinks and beers we could find quality wines, from several AOC area, sell by can. Indeed, even if for the moment there are limited products available, just three wines from Languedoc (2011 white wine from Rolle grape, 2011 red wine from Syrah, Mourvedre and Grenache and a 2012 rosè wine from Grenache) the real goal is starting to sell by can also Bordeaux and Bourgogne wines.
Winestar will be sell in 187 ml cans (the classic quarter of liter) using particular “green cans” easy to recycle with a inside film to preserve the wine and avoid to stay in contact with the aluminum to guarantee the perfect conservation and at the same time, a starting price between 3€ and 3,50€.
Real revolution or just marketing strategy?
