Harvest 2013, first evaluations.
Just start the harvest (the 10% of the domestic grapes are already picked up) and the first evaluation is going to start.
According to Assoenologi, 2013 production is evaluate around 44/45 millions hectoliters, wine plus must, with +8% respect 2012 harvest that registered 41,1 millions hectoliters. (Istat data not definitive)The general weather this year was not usual for Italian climate but perfect for the vineyard with spread ripening and grapes bigger and richest, hinder the harvest risk at the historical average. Copious rainfall during winter, spring and summer add to hot weather on July and August allowed the perfect vines accumulation process all around Italy.
