ISMEA data based on IRI research on first six months of the year register a 4% sale growth.
In this period the total growth (4%) was divided in this way: +3% DOC wine, +1% IGT wine, +6% table wine and sparkling wine with +10% (for the sparkling we have to consider that in the evaluated period we have also the new year week)
The third three months period of the year seems to be positive for wine unit.
Ismea data for nine months is +4,2% for retail wine sales but we register a decrease of 6% in volume and a growth of 11% in value (price mix)
The best situation is still register by two particular wine categories: table and sparkling wine with +7% in the first three months and +9% in nine months period.
IGT wines are still in the worst position, stationary at +1% in nine months period. Volume register an important decrease, -10% but mixing price rise and balance this reduction.
Table wine register +7,3% and the positive trend is basically tie to a smaller reduction in volume respect previous period, around 6% but at the same time the price effect is still fundamental +17%.
Sparkling wine register a +9% and it's the only one category that doesn't lose sales volume (+7%) and register also rise of price of 2%.
