Everyone getting crazy for sparkling wines and as result, world consumption between 2007 and 2012 rise on +13,58% and we have to consider the same trend until 2016. We also suppose that UK will became the first market for sparkling wine skip on Germany and US.
Based on Vinexpo-IWSR research (International Wine & Spirits research) UK sparkling wines consumption will be 126 millions bottles. Right now France export of sparkling wines in UK is 37 millions bottles follow by Spain (25 millions), Italy (19 millions), Australia (8,5 millions) and South Africa (2,5 millions). To the other side, Uk sparkling wines consumption in 2016 will occur a domestic explosion with UK sparkling wines at 5,7 millions bottles (+342% compare to 2007).
During 2016 in UK will be also another big news, white wine will skip red wines and they will represent 45% of the consumption. At the same time will be a general consumption decrease -4,7% with 1080 millions liters in 2016. Decrese the quantity but rise the quality and will be a +13,8% for wine up to 10 GBP (shelf price).
